Re: GB7MP - nearly there !

MP is co-sited with GB3LW, which I always assumed was short for London Weekend Television. LW used to be known as the cabbies' repeater, because various (properly licensed) taxi drivers used it to chat to each other as they pootled around the capital (it is an excellent for Central London), but LW h...

Re: GB7MP - nearly there !

Any updates? I'm keeping clear at the moment until the smoke dissipates, but I'd love to get back into central London again.

Re: Changes in the air?

Well, I hope it gets fixed soon. It took me a while to encourage my pal to get his ticket, and nationwide DMR was one of the things that enthused him.

Re: Changes in the air?

So 4400 works like the UK TG? - is it linked to the UK TG? I think the problem is I don't know exactly how the two different UK DMR networks (there are two now, right?) are interconnected, except via the EU,US and WW TGs.

Re: Changes in the air?

So I'm now really confused. I'm on EE. How do I talk to my pal on GB7NS? It used to be we could just QSY to a user-activated talkgroup and just tie up two repeaters for our QSO (you can't really do better than that for polite resource use!), but now I can't even work out how to call him. Use the EU-...

MD380 firmware reverse engineered

Haven't read the full documentation yet, but it looks as if the MD-380 firmware has been completely reverse engineered and brand-new software built for it Could turn it into one of the most exciting digital open platforms out there... at least until the manufacturers learn how to lock it down proper...
