Re: MD9600 First impressions...

Some progress. It looks like the missing audio problem might be due to having the A and B receivers set to the same band. In this condition the radio scans between the two frequencies. It doesn't seem to decode DMR properly when it is doing this. The original CPS would only allow UHF frequencies on ...

Re: MD9600 First impressions...

Thanks for that Chris, it confirms that it is not a fault with my radio.

Yes, the transmit audio quality seems to be good and the receiver sounds good when it is working.

MD9600 Microphone Connections

Thinking ahead to making a mobile headset microphone I decided to investigate the microphone connections for the MD9600. It appears that the microphone circuitry is almost a direct copy of the Yaesu MH-48, the service manual for which can be found on the internet. The 8 pin RJ45 connections are as f...

MD9600 First impressions...

Having had my MD-9600 for a few days I decided to write a few reports on my impression so far. This post is concentrating on my first impressions of the radio from a users point of view. See my other posts on the CPS and the RF performance. Overall after playing with the radio for a few days my feel...

MD9600 Measurements.

Having had my MD-9600 for a few days I decided to write a few reports on my impression so far. This post is concentrating on some quick tests I did on the RF performance of the radio. All tests done with a Marconi 2955 test set in FM mode. Not yet had time to check with a spectrum analyser. Receiver...

Re: MD9600 CPS 1.18 VFO Mode Bug

Hi Chris, Yes,I believe that is what Chris did when he programmed the radios. he told me he was using your 2017 codeplug. Only problem was all FM repeaters receive CTCSS was set to an invalid value of 60Hz. So none would receive even though the front panel showed RCTCSS as off. Setting a valid value...

MD9600 CPS 1.18 VFO Mode Bug

Just a warning, the MD9600 can support 3000 channels, however there appears to be a bug in the CPS V1.18 which causes any channels above 1028 to disappear!. Really annoying after you have just entered lots of channels! This appears to be triggered by programming the VFO parameters. So, until TYT com...

Re: 2 meter DMR Simplex

144.6125 is the nominated DV calling channel in the U.K. Bandplan. This and a few adjacent 12.5k channels would seem to make sense.

Re: MD-390 Help With a Repeater Setting - Please.

As you are pretty sure you have all the settings correct it sounds like the repeater is not decoding the CTCSS correctly. It may be that your MD390 is not calibrated correctly and the level of the CTCSS tone is too low or there is a bug in the firmware and it is generating the wrong tone. If you hav...
