Re: Motorola DM4600 Auto Power Off

There is an auto power off setting in the CPS associated with the ignition sense pin. You will find it under the accessories tab. It is designed to power down the radio x minutes after the vehicle ignition is turned off. If your radio has been programmed to respond to the ignition sense input but yo...

Re: Wrong model ?

Hello Steve, To clarify what the other posts are saying, the most reliable way of programming a radio is to do the following:- Read the existing Codeplug from the radio. Save the Codeplug to disk. Modify the Codeplug you have just read to the way you want your radio to be set up. Write the modified ...

Re: BFDX TD505 RX issues from non local repeater

Hi James, I have had a quick look at the codeplug and I can not see anything obvious. You are using RXlists with just one entry which are not actually required, a radio will always receive the talkgroup it is transmitting on so you could set the rxlist to none. However that shouldn't cause any probl...

Re: BFDX TD505 RX issues from non local repeater

One thought I have just had, are you sure your radio is not set for talkaround? You may be hearing the other transmission directly rather than via the repeater. A radio in talkaround will not necessarily receive the repeater even if it is on the same frequency. (behavior seems to be manufacturer dep...

Re: BFDX TD505 RX issues from non local repeater

The repeater ID is not sent over the air so it is not significant in programming. I cant see any reason to need to enter it in the CPS. The transmission format for local signals should also be identical to distant repeaters so your issue is a strange one. Do you have a link to the TD505 programming ...

Re: Baofeng DM-5R warning.

I have now heard a station using the DM-5R on the Phoenix network. I can confirm that although the radio appeared to work (apart from having very low audio) it was actually occupying both timeslots on the originating repeater. This confirms that even though the so-called Tier 2 update had been done ...

Re: Code plug clone

It is not usually possible to use the Codeplug from one Model in another. Normally every radio model needs a new Codeplug.

Re: Updating an MD665 programme

When your radio was updated part of the process would have been to upgrade the Codeplug to a later version. The firmware update program would have done this automatically. It sounds like your original Codeplug is no longer compatible with the firmware in the radio. This is quite common with commerci...

Re: Baofeng DM-5R warning.

The so called tier 2 update has been tested by several people now and confirmed that it does not work. All it does is add the AMBE vocoder. The radio remains a tier 1 radio but it can then communicate on simplex only with tier 2 radios. It does not work with TDMA tier 2 repeaters as used by all the ...
