Re: Now part of Phoenix?

The Northern DMR cluster remains as a separately managed network. They have however requested to interconnect that network with Phoenix to gain access to some of the wide area Talkgroups. The connections you can see on the Phoenix status pages are the connections set up to provide those links.

Re: Chertsey Radio club testing new DMR hand held

Hi James, I have to agree with Mike, pre-programmed radios with no cable supplied is not the way to go, I would encourage you to include a cable and software with every radio. The DMR networks are constantly changing. Being able to re-program your own radio to accommodate these changes is an essenti...

Re: Taken the plunge!

Hello Terry,

If your location is correct on QRZ.com then you might get a better signal from GB7NS than from GF. Either way welcome to DMR.

Re: Ging around in circles

You need to select clone instead of write. That will write the Codeplug to a different serial number. The model number must still be the same though.

Re: TYT MD-380 - Reception Issue?

Yes, a large receive group can help monitor the activity on a repeater. It can however cause some confusion if you try to reply to the calls you hear. Most radios will reply on the incoming Talkgroup but only for a couple of seconds. Then it will revert to the programmed talkgroup. So it is best to ...

Re: TYT MD-380 - Reception Issue?

It doesn't sound like you have done anything wrong programming your radio. If it is receiving one side of a conversation then it should work for the other side. There is nothing you could do wrong that would prevent it. Normally a radio will only hear traffic on the same Talkgroup that it is program...

Re: TYT MD-380 - Reception Issue?

It sometimes happens that the two stations in a QSO are actually using different Talkgroups but don't realise it. If their radios are set up with a RX group or they have scanning active they will still hear each other. If your radio doesn't have a RX group or scanning set then you will only hear one...

Re: PD365 rebooting

The very loud audio at the start of transmissions is a known issue with some Motorola radios. They have an automatic gain control which automatically reduces loud audio but on the early firmware releases this didn't work very well, resulting in the issue you describe. This was improved significantly...

Re: Latest Talk Group List

It hasn't been DMR-MARC since last April. When 10 repeater keepers got together, formed CC-3.net, shared the cost to purchase their own C-Bridge and then made it available to any UK repeater. Since then it has always been the UK CC-3 network which takes international feeds from the DMR-MARC network....
