Cheers Steve that would be great

am doing some hunting too to see if I can find something online that is ok for turning text to voice and being able to download the files, Was thinking I could do one for each repeater and common zones such as simplex, dv simplex, fm repeaters etc etc and then one for each TG for the normal ones at least but not come across anything I like yet

Hi, assuming the .rar file went through (3.7MB) you should have the voices I have created to date.

As the site link doesn't work any more for the AT&T voice I have yet to add in the latest repeaters so if you find another link please post it. Too busy at the moment to search.. The talk groups and channel names are in.

Feedback would be good but they all work well for me in the mobile and home rigs. Conversion of the voice is good although there are a few restrictions and funnies through digitising english - try GB7RR voice as an example ☺

Regards

I have several DP3400's and have been unable to configure voice announcement on them. When selecting manage voice announcement on CPS I receive the error message: 'Error #1921 Unable to detect applicable devices for voice announcement.

Any ideas if this is a firmware, cable or other issue?

I can configure voice announcement fine on my DP4601

Any help would be most appreciated.

I believe voice announcements are only available on Gen 2 radios. The 3400 is a Gen 1 radio and so won't support it.

You appear to be correct. I did think that may be the case when I couldn't do it a few months ago but am sure I read somewhere it was supported, cannot find it on any Motorola documentation now though!

Thank you for reply and sorry for the silly question!

Hi, first post on this forum, name is Martin and QTH is just outside Hastings. Now able to access easily through GB7CK.
I have been playing with text to speech, tried Festival and Festvox and whilst they work fine the voices available are not as good as AT&T.
Found a site https://www.yakitome.com which does online tts free with limited voices but has "Audrey" which seems to be same as the AT&T one and you can download an .mp3 file.
What I did was type in the voice announcements that I wanted separated by commas (essential to create gaps in the audio file), download the .mp3 and open in Audacity. I changed the sampling rate to 8khz then selected each announcement and exported to individual .wav files. CPS accepts and loads these files fine into DM4601. Left the volume level alone and seems ok.
Hope this may be of help to others.

Martin
