Does the DM4600 have such a feature?

I recently bought one (new) and it switches itself off after about 5 minutes.

If not, is it a faulty radio?

Hi Darren
When you say it goes at about 5 mins is that on RX or TX ?
As far as I can see from the manual it does not mention the feature, but at 5 mins that sounds a bit too quick to time out

No, its not a tx timeout.

It is when the radio is sat on receive, it powers down. It actually says powering down on the screen.

Sounds like a fault !

There is an auto power off setting in the CPS associated with the ignition sense pin. You will find it under the accessories tab. It is designed to power down the radio x minutes after the vehicle ignition is turned off.

If your radio has been programmed to respond to the ignition sense input but you haven't connected it then that could be what's causing your problem.

It is wired direct to the battery using the cable that came with the radio.

I don't know how to wire the ignition sense system.

Ignition sense is on one of the pins of the accessory socket. Pin 25 from memory.

The simplest way, if that is the problem, is to disable the ignition sense using the CPS.

Touching wood, the ignition sense sorted it.
