If anyone here is interested I have written a review of this radio, if so here is the link.

I also have some other radio related items here.

Very good work, thanks for taking the time. I own a pair of these so can comment on how they perform back to back (if anyone is interested), but otherwise you have covered much of what a newcomer might want to know in a nice review.

My overall opinion in a brief summary: I like these little radios but am not a big fan of DMR overall, and won't be ditching analogue just yet. :)

In my view it is complementary to analogue anyhow. I doubt analogue will go away any time soon. I speak for all modes not only FM. Any more than DMR is a replacement for HF.

DMR may be great for quick lunchtime contacts for example, but HF requires no infrastructure to work. After a natural disaster like the tsunami which hit on boxing day 2004 there is no substitute for HF.

Retaining analogue modes makes it easier for newcomers in the hobby as it is easy to set up and use, as well as to monitor - many like myself started out as listeners after all.
