Overcoming Known decoding issue with Hytera PD365

Postby G3rsi » Tue Feb 21, 2017 6:05 pm

Hello,

Hytera PD365 has issues with decoding the in-band data like talker alias. You can disable sending in-band data to your radio on openSPOT's Settings page at DMR settings section until Hytera releases a fixed firmware for your radio.

This info was obtained from Shark RF

It's not only the PD365 that is affected. Talker alias is a fairly new addition to the DMR specification so very few radios support it yet. If you are lucky the radio will ignore it, if not it will cause unpredictable results.
With the wide range of different radios in use on the amateur systems it is unlikely that Talker alias will be usable for a long time. Older models of radio may never have their firmware updated.

Which firmware version are you using?

By the way, now there are two variants of the MD365. The "small MCU" (model sold before November 2016) and "large MCU". The latest variant supports more features like roaming, and it runs version 2 firmware. The "small MCU" model is at firmware version 1.6.1.1. I updated recently from the 1.4.14 it came with.
