CS750 CSI code bug ?

Postby G6ENU » Mon Dec 07, 2015 1:58 am

I think I've found a bug in the latest CPS for the CS750, but I'd appreciate it if someone else could test to see if they can reproduce the bug.

What appears to be happening is that, if I insert a new group contact into the contacts list, it messes up the TX-Group in every channel whose TX group was below the insert point in the contacts list.

Given that I have exported and imported relatively recently, and I was inserting TG22 at the correct position on the list, this messed up a lot of channels for me.

Could someone else give it a shot (just don't save the configuration before exiting) and let me know if it's reproducible, then we can move on to how to let Connect Systems know of the bug.

Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian, I have had this happen once, I added a Group Contact to the Contact List and it shifted the pointers above that contact number up by one.. I am not sure if I did the addition within the CPS or externaly in Excel. It only happened the once and I have added quite a few group contacts (Direct Dial contacts) over the last month or so. I now use TG9990 (Echotest) which is my highest Group Contact number as a check to see if anything has moved.

Have had a play with my Contacts List and have found that any additions or edits if done within Excel causes no problems to the TG pointers within channels. So a work around is:
Export (a working) DIGITAL CONTACTS List.
Open the Exported Excel file.
Insert or Add your additional Contacts to the file.
Highlight the Numeric entries in Column A, then Clear Contents.
Highlight the Numeric entries in Column D, then Sort (smallest to largest).

This gives you an importable Excel files sorted by TG numbers.

Import the DIGITAL CONTACTS into the CPS.

You should now find that the TG pointers are still pointing to the correct TG's.

That was going to be my next test when I got clear of other, more important matters (my XYL is in hospital at the moment).

She's home now, thanks. They did all sorts of tests over the course of a few days and eliminated everything they could think of that was of any significance. They think it's just a combination of small bits and pieces including that she's convalescing from a (laparoscopic) gall bladder removal.
