The is dead, long live the King!

Postby Tone » Tue Dec 22, 2015 8:37 pm

Most will probably have heard by now that there has been a bloodless coup within the open systems DMR community.
It was decided that some of those controlling the DMR+ network were not allowing us to move in the direction we wanted to and as a result, we jumped ships to the BrandMeister network.
Client operation for radio users is largely unaffected although there will be a need to re-programme your radios at some point in the future as with any rapidly expanding system.

All the talk about this assumes people understand the entire system. As a newcomer to DMR, I've no idea the implications of these changes being promoted by the different alliances, and the impact to everyday users. Anybody care to give watered down resume of what it all means, and who is affected, and more importantly what won't work, and for whom?
