Repeater Connect

Postby g0nwe » Tue Apr 05, 2016 12:41 pm

Hello, Gerry in Runcorn, just joined.
Yesterday, Monday, I had my First qso into Canada on ww English.
Everything was fine. Today, I attempted to respond to a call on ww English I waited a few seconds to allow the system to reset and then pressed my ptt to respond but found after couple of seconds my 380 gave out a continuous tone for a couple of seconds and then returned to standby.

My local DMR repeater id GB&LP in Liverpool.

Have searched for an explanation but found nothing. If someone could explain to me why this is happening I will be grateful

The reason for the tone is its telling you the channel is busy

Hi Gerry,

Welcome to the group, I used to live in The Old Town :-) for a couple of years but grew up around Sutton Weaver :-).

Radiotwo is rite, if someone else is on the same repeater on the same time slot on a different talk group then you will be unable to transmit.

Completely normal. What repeater are you working thru?

Kind Regards,

RadioTwo
Dave

Thanks for the replies. I had edited the file adding the local analogue repeaters and thought I may have caused what I thought to be an error.
Dave: I live on the North end of Castlefields, a few hundred metres from the Bridgewater canal. I can use LP or HM but at the moment only have LP programmed in.

I am on QRZ for further details, Thanks again Lads Gerry, GØNWE
