GB7OZ (Oswestry) Operational

Postby Ruyton » Fri Apr 08, 2016 10:41 am

GB7OZ went live at 3.30pm on Thursday 7th April 2016. It's located to the NW of Oswestry with the aim of filling a gap in the SALOP and Borders DMR Cluster. High ground to the North and West of the repeater means that the predicted coverage will be to the SE of the site, towards Oswestry and Shrewsbury.

GB7OZ uses two talkgroups, TG9 TS1 for local (single repeater only) and TG950 Regional which links all the cluster repeaters (GB7GT, GB7BX, GB7HM, GB7OZ and soon GB7BJ). It's early days and I'm sure there will be some tweaking to do, but OZ is a welcome addition to the cluster,

Band: 70CM ( DVU50) Output frequency: 439.6250MHz RX Frequency: 430.6250MHz

Thanks Gary, that is fantastic news.

Really looking forward to using it :-).

HM is amazing until you head down the A5 Chirk and it drastically gets reduced. Should be a brilliant addition for coverage. Well Done.

Hi Gary,

Receiving the repeater from the alternative location in Acrefair on a HT with its small internal antenna. Transmitted into the repeater on low power and it seamed to accept it. Voice has gone, sore throat so unable to have QSO but I am monitoring :).
