yeah thanks! just joined that group today or yesterday...have posted in there....just waiting for approval...

So tell me....are they active these radios....like do you have one? and are they on all the time with chat? or is it just no one's using them.....

Thanks

They are the only 2 that I've heard the past 24 hours.....

So them zones that are under the heading PUBwatch etc..... i take it the radio will only be scanning between them....

Bit disappointed as thought the radio would have scanned them all......so i guess if you want it to scan say "zone2" and the frequencies that are in there it's a manual case of telling the radio to scan that particular zone.....

Being on the western edge of London there is a fair bit of activity on the five Phoenix UHF amateur repeaters that I can access, also the Brandmeister reflectors (channels) are quite busy via my internet connected Raspberry pi/DV4mini combination.

that sounds awesome!

I'd really like to know more about that if you wouldn't mind sharing..?

I know this threads about the DMR so maybe we can start another some where :)

I'm loving the radio side of things, going to take my course so i can get a licence etc.

oh..... and a question....

I seem to miss like the start of conversations etc. So was wondering if i have to adjust the squelch etc. or maybe something else like the time etc.

Thanks

Think you will find that the MD-390 is just slow at scanning channels..

seem to miss lots of bits of conversations though.....so it'll kick in and i'll here some one shout of some one else, then they might respond...the green light then stays on but i don't hear anything...... then other times i'll just hear the end of a conversation....hmmmm

It could be you are trying to monitor a trunked DMR system, if so you will miss large chunks of conversations..

hmmmm OK.....

I'll have to have a read up on that....

Also had a look at them DV4 mini...they look like a nice piece of kit..... might have to get one! i watched a youtube channel and the guys shows you it connecting to the local repeater..... would I need anything else to connect like a licence or ID etc. ?

Thanks
