Have tried your sugestion, the only indication that the radio is actually scanning the tg8s is the flashing light? The display doesn't, change until it encounters some activity, is that correct? ?

That is quite correct Bob, the radio is doing what you want it is just that you can't see it happening on the display - till you encounter activity..

Here is a good video on programming the CS700, it might give you some insight into what does what:

I will take the radio to work tomorrow and see how it performs, thanks very much for the advice, I didn't even know that particular version of scanning/roaming existed
Best regards

One extra thing you can do Bob, is to open the CPS, load the codeplug, Channel information, NS Roaming TG8.

Select "Auto Scan" to ON...
Save the codeplug to disk. (Give it a name like Autoscan to identify what has been changed)
Upload codeplug to CS700.
Now every time you select channel 1 in the GB7NS Zone the radio will Auto Scan the scan list, if you tranmit whilst scanning, you will go out on the last heard repeater on TG8 or NS TG8 by default. To cancel Scan hit the bottom side button..

Thanks for that, at the moment we are just trying to get Bob's new codeplug and CS700 combination working in a useful way.
Later on when the new London & SE repeaters come on air the CS700 and CS750 radios will have an advantage, most DMR radios only scan up to 16 channels, the CS radios will do 32 :D
